The outfits that is!  This is my 3rd year to photograph this little girl, and  I photographed her little brother last year when he was a wee two weeks old.   Both she and her little brother have such soulful eyes — deep little wells.   We had a wonderful session as usual with lots of singing between big siser and me.   And she had Go-Go with her as always.  Go-go (her stuffed puppy) was present throughout our session last year too.   I love Go-Go.

Hope you enjoy the peek - the rest of your images will be ready soon.  Watching your family grow has been a treat!

Well I have been one busy little bee. . .  So much of the work in a photography business is “behind the scenes”,  so to speak.   My splash page is updated and I’ll soon be updating my website (which hasn’t been updated since January)  But what I really wanted to share is the new subscribe button at the top of the blog.

subscribe-vr1

Just click on the subscribe link in the top menu and enter your email address.   You’ll then receive an email letting you know when I’ve updated my blog - this is the best way to stay in touch with what’s going on - current promotions,  recent sessions,  new samples,  and of course some of my random musings  on life (for whatever that’s worth lol) . . .  So, to give it a jump start, I’m having a drawing.  Every person who subscribes to the blog will be entered into a drawing for a free session. That’s right, all you have to do is type in your email address and you could win a free session.

The (not-so) fine print:

  1. Subscriptions must be entered by Tuesday June 2 to be eligible for the drawing.  So go ahead and press the subscribe button now  before you forget - it literally takes 60 seconds.
  2. Session must take place before August 31.
  3. If you already have a session scheduled for the summer  and you win the drawing, your session fee will be credited towards your print purchase.

I can’t wait to see who wins!!!!!

Also,  I’m currently scheduling beach sessions for June 20-27 on the beaches of Oak Island, NC  (about 45 minutes from Wilmington).  There are a limited number of sessions,  so call or email me if you want to reserve a time.

And more to come - so stay tuned!

Jane Eaton Hamilton: Pick me! Or doesn't this come with airfare from Vancouver? Lol.

I love photographing at all of the beautiful parks, arboretums, and gardens that we have  — but there’s something so unique and personal about photographing a family at their home.   These were all in the backyard - and their backyard is so lovely with a wooded perimeter and dotted with lots and lots of sweet daisies.

Just wanted to share a few I’ve edited - of course there’s lots more to come guys.  Hope you enjoy!

If you’d like to leave a comment (and I love to hear your comments), please use the add a comment link below the post.   You will need to leave an email of some sort, but this will of course never be shared.

Megan Parker: What a fun family! They look so relaxed with you. I love seeing photographers that can really capture these moments that look like you weren't even there. Great job!

Zoe Berkovic: Love these! The foot shot is my favorite! I would hang that one up in BIG!

ahhhhh. . . it’s almost beach time. . . my shoulders are dropping just thinking about it. . .wet sand between your toes,  seashell hunting,  the smell of sun lotion and salty air, kites streaming, sandcastles grand and not-so-grand, pelicans soaring, windy hair, and of course the hypnotic rhythm of the waves . . . We start the morning checking for turtle tracks in the sand and then we move on to buckets and shovels in the sand and the ever popular wave jumping escapades.    We’ve gone to this same beach for 10 years now and every single time we know why.   It’s serene and quiet with very little development.

Because it’s such a quiet beach, it’s been perfect for photographing families.  This summer,  I’m scheduling beach sessions the week of  June 20-27.   Sessions are on Oak Island, NC  (near Bald Head Island).  It’s about 45 minutes from Wilmington.    Beach photographs are classic - and we have a blast during these sessions!  You can check out a full beach session on my website (www.kathleenhunterphotography.com) under “featured sessions”.

For those of you looking for non-beach sessions,  May is booked but I do have some June openings left so give me a call.
